| Miss M on Summer and Lil M on Friday |
The girls had a great time riding horses for the first time (big horses, not just ponies or miniature ones). There were also 2 miniature horses there that like to run around and be silly. One chased Lil M around the pen (the fence separated them) trying to get her to feed him more carrots. It was pretty entertaining to watch.
There was also free food donated by Red Robin, Texas Roadhouse, and a few others. Yum! Free crafts for the girls too. Miss M made an awesome beaded horseshoe. It was nice to do something new and get out of the house for the day. It's already really hot here though, but we had to stay for the raffle drawings. I did win a few prizes, so it made it worth the stay til the very end. Justincredible, you and I have a date at the Roadhouse when you get back!
To sign up for the Horses 4 Heroes Program, all you need to do is visit their website, fill out the form and then find a local stable or ranch that is participating. Next, call them up and schedule your ride! It's open to active duty military personnel, returning combat veterans, wounded warriors and their families.
