A friend of mine over at Barefoot and Boots recently posted about a fundraiser her friend has started. Another Marine wife, Alex, is holding a nation-wide fundraiser to help her baby. Her baby needs a DOCBand. A DOCBand is a specialized helmet to help re-shape any cranial deformities. They need to be worn for weeks at a time and almost every hour of every single day. By almost every hour of the day, I mean 23. Unfortunately, these helmets can cost an upwards of $3000+ and they are not covered AT ALL by military health insurance. Boo.
Ok, it's simple and easy to help out...and I really think you'll love what Alex has to offer. CUPCAKES! Who doesn't love cupcakes, right?!? Especially, when YOU get to eat the cupcakes, and Baby A gets her DOCBand.
There's a ton of delicious sounding treats that you can choose from that are straight from the oven of Alex. "French Toast", "Espresso 'n' Cream", and "Pink Champagne" are some of her creations, plus about a dozen more!
I know most of you reading this live out-of-state, but you can order for yourself and have it shipped overnight. Or, you can leave a note with your order asking that your order be delivered to a military family who might need a little pick-me-up. Regardless, all proceeds from cupcakes sold this month will be going towards Baby A and her special need.
